Cooking Instuctions1. Bring to boil 4 cups of water in a stock pot/large pan, add the washed lentils. (1 cup of red lentils)
2. Add 1 tablespoon of Dhaal Spice to the boiling lentils. Stir and make sure all the spices have dissolved.
3. Boil until the lentils have cooked. (10-15 minutes)
4. In a separate frying pan, fry ½ a chopped onion in 3-4 table spoons of oil, when it turns translucent, add 2 cloves of chopped garlic and a thumb sized piece of ginger chopped (or 1 table spoon of garlic/ginger puree). Fry for 3-5 minutes until the garlic and ginger brown in the oil (do not burn).
5. Now add the fried onions, garlic and ginger (and the oil) mixture to the lentils and simmer for 5 minutes.
6. Finally add a tea spoon of the 'Garnish mix' to the curry, and add salt to taste.
7. Serve hot with a sprinkling of coriander.
